Active Hobby has made the OFFICIAL announcement for their FR Front Motor Conversion Kit. This new 1/10 scale RC Drift conversion kit is made for the Tamiya TA-06 or TA-05 (v1 or v2) chassis. Capable of 2WD or 4WD drive-train layouts, Active boasts that this is the ideal layout for a scale drift machine. This new conversion kit will further the FR chassis RWD drifter movement. Lately RWD has been leaving more of a mark in drifting, more people have been experimenting with varying results. MST recently launched their FS-01D front motor chassis kit, and now Active has launched their FR conversion kit. This allows users more options when it comes to choice of front motor chassis layout. These new front motor chassis really show a lot of promise, only time will tell how well they perform.

Long list of necessary parts don’t include dampers and suspension sets. LOL This thing will be more expensive than fully loaded drb.
Well if you have a TA-06 Pro kit as a donor then it will have the dampers and suspension. Its pricey, but who knows, might be worth it? Just have to wait and see…..
Ive got the money but ima wait for the review then decide, bit pricey but what you gonna do.
probably a good idea, its quite an expensive conversion….
Whoa!! 478.41 USD? I assume that’s MSRP. I’d drop 300 on its no more.
yeah its MSRP, so maybe street price will be slightly lower? hard to say as most of Active’s conversion kits are pricey.
this is crazy
40000 Yen for a conversion?
yeah close to $500USD and that does not include the TA06 kit you will need… but what would you do for FR layout?
same with active Hobby Front Motor Conversion prototype version 2 ?
is the same, accident writing the url location 🙂
Will active hobby be making continuous batches of these, or were they a limited run? I looked around online and it seems that they aren’t available anywhere/are sold out from the one place I did see it for sale. I was hoping to buy one at the tail end of the year thinking that it’s availability would be similar to that of the Eagle Racing GRT conversions for the TA05. It could also be I’m just not looking in the right places. Can anyone with more knowledge about the kit clarify for me please, or point me in the right direction? I’m crossing my fingers that they keep producing these kits for the market lol.
Generally Active Hobby reproduces every few months, but really dependent on demand for the product. You should check online Japanese vendors for someone that carries this. There should be quite a few with at least 1 or 2 in stock. Check banzai or rc race and drift… there are other online vendors also!
halo ~ how to contact ??!?
Go to the Contact Us link on the menu!
