Introduction
M.E.D.T have released a much needed RC Drifting tool, the M.E.D.T. RC Tire Changer! Made of high quality (anodized or chrome plated) aluminum with a brass spindle for a beautiful finish and great longevity. We had the chance to assemble and put the tire changer to test as seen in one of our latest videos.
Overall Quality
The quality of the M.E.D.T. tire changer has far exceeded our expectation in terms of overall fit and finish. Each piece fits together exactly as it was designed to, the spindle screws into the top mount with little to no resistance. The removal plate rotates very smoothly at the bottom of the spindle and the removal collar fits perfectly into the base.
The anodizing and chrome plating came out flawlessly, the anodized version has nice finish and color. The chrome plated version has a vibrant shine, both finishes should stand up to constant use for a very long time.
The removal surface fits right around the tires outer edge, so it does not damage the surface of any of your precious wheels. You can remove the wheel from the rear side where it will be less of an impact to nicely finished wheels. We have used the MEDT tire changer to remove many different types of wheels and tires as listed below.
Wheels: HPI, Speedway PAL, MST, Yokomo, Spice, Vertex, Tamiya, Overdose, Speedline 1.9 and 2.2
Tires: T-drift and all clones, MST, Tamiya, HPI, Yokomo, Street Jam, 3Racing, Speedline
Overall Value
At $59.00 USD per tire changer, it will be on the more expensive side but there is no other RC Drift tire changer in existence that does most of the work for you. The quality and ease of use makes this tool a valuable investment, it can help save your fingers from wrestling the tires off their rims or burning them trying to mount a hot tire. This is an especially handy tool if you often change tires to fit for different surfaces.
Conclusion
As many of you have seen from pictures and videos that this tool is very meaningful and very useful.
It has made one of the most annoying task of removing old tires, much less of a chore and in fact more fun.
To be honest, we quite enjoy removing old T-drift and clones from old rims. Now those old rims with those tires you thought were stuck forever can be reused. The only downside is the price as it can be quite steep for most people but unless you have god like fingers I highly recommend you invest in great tools such as this.
yeah right. no one in their right mind would give this a 4.8 out of 5
boiling water is quite easy to use for the price ratio!
I’d rather buy a camping propane stove to boil water at the track for alot less money and i’tll cook my lunch!
