Active Hobby Japan was one of the first to produce a countersteer CS modified kit for the Tamiya TT-01 chassis. Tamiya TT-01 owners have always been restricted to the traditional 1.44 ratio from Active, because those were the only sets available. Now Active Hobby has announced the availability of 1.5 and 2.0 Counter-steer CS ratios for the TT-01 chassis. A new solid spool/axle looks to be included as part of this kit. This means that TT-01 owners will have options when it comes to CS modifications.
This gear set is great for any beginner looking to start their path down the countersteer modified drifters category. These new CS gears will provide a ratio CS ratio of 1.5 or 2.0; 50% overdrive or 100% overdrive respectively. These gears are made of high quality Delrin material because of lightweight and excellent wear resistance. Active Hobby TT-01 CS kit includes a rear spool axle but utilizes stock TT-01 out-drives. This means that you can use your old dog-bones without changing the entire assembly to universal drive-shafts. Active Hobby also sells all these gears separately in case you have a problem and strip one of the gears.
STR102 – Active Hobby TT-01 1.5 Countersteer kit include:
17T and 22T bevel gear
Solid axle/Rear spool axle
Approximate MSRP: ¥3000JPY
STR103 – Active Hobby TT-01 2.0 Countersteer kit includes:
17T and 29T bevel gear
Solid axle/Rear spool axle
Approximate MSRP: ¥3000JPY
STR123 – Spare Gears Version 2.0 (17t/22t)
STR124 – Spare Gears Version 1.5 (17t/29t)
MSRP for Spare Gears: ¥2000JPY
Personally we have used this gear in our old TT-01 and it is very important that during install everything is shimmed properly. We highly recommend that you take your time installing this and ensuring a proper gear meshing before using it. Also after one run, open up the gearbox and check to make sure everything is still proper.

coool but derlin is a bitch 🙁 eagle CS is metal active go with metal Gears like yokomo CS and eagle tt-01 CS
yes, but at least there are more options now. 🙂
i underdrive my font and i’m using 1.44 overdrive eagle kit back + 22% underdrive front from changing 15t bevel to 13 t bevel ;) 3 of the Gears are metal and the ratio is 1.66 it is ok 😉 i’m happy but 2.0 metal gears would’ve been nice
Just out of curiosity, what bevel gear did you use for the front?
13t Traxxas Slash-4×4 the back of the bevell was shaved with dremel to fit http://www.ebay.com/itm/Slash-4×4-PINION-BEVEL-Gear-Set-bearings-US-FREE-SHIPPING-Traxxas-6808-/330698280336
cool, glad to see custom mods out there 🙂
thanks
it would be cool if i could get the 2.0 CS custom metal gears and stil use the 13t bevel the ration will be CS Ratio: 2.32 CS Percentage: 132
CS FDR: 6.73 and steering lock 50-55 angle 🙂 is it too much for a tt-01
2.0 derlin active will be copied and made from steel in a local machine shop
