HPI has taken the proven Sprint 2 platform and added a 2.4GHz radio system, pre-painted bodies, waterproof electronics, LIPO-capable electronic speed control, 7.2V battery pack with AC wall charger, AA batteries for the transmitter, and orange anodized chassis parts. And it’s all pre-built to precise factory specs to get you drifting quickly.
The RTR Sprint 2 Drift features two pre-painted body choices, a matte black 2010 Chevrolet® Camaro® with shiny chrome and gold decals, and a Nissan 350Z with white paint and orange/blue drift graphics. The body comes completely trimmed, decaled and mounted for the ultimate in ease. The intricate paint designs feature an action sports inspired layout for concours quality appearance. And you can always customize your car with any of the clear or pre-painted polycarbonate body shells from the huge assortment of HPI bodies and other manufacturers as well! For great looks, the RTR Sprint 2 RC Drift is topped off with a set of officially licensed bronze Rays/Volk TE37 wheels with pre-mounted Falken Azenis RT-615 drift tires.
The RTR Sprint 2 RC Drift chassis is 4WD for consistent drift action on a wide variety of surfaces, easy to drive, and has all of the features you need to adjust for a perfect drift set-up: camber, toe-in, ride height, Ackerman, and a wide variety of available shock oils and shock springs! With a big foam front bumper, reinforced molded nylon chassis, upper deck and shock towers, you’ll see that the RTR Sprint 2 RC Drift can easily take the abuse of drift driving. The full ball bearing, dual belt, 4 wheel drive transmission is very efficient and capable of handling high power modified electric motors down to 10 turns.
The RTR Sprint 2 Drift takes full advantage of all of the benefits of electric power; it’s quiet, clean, powerful, and truly plug-and-play, no starter or fuel needed! Power comes from a Firebolt 15T motor, controlled by an electronic speed control for complete control over throttle, brakes, and reverse. 6 and 7 cell NiMh battery packs fit easily in the RTR Sprint 2 Drift, as well as 2S Li-Po packs.
The design of the Sprint 2 chassis with its controlled flexibility gives the car great handling. A belt driven 4 wheel drive system guarantees smooth power transfer and excellent traction on all surfaces. Plus, the race proven suspension with real oil filled shock absorbers offer lots of racing features you wouldn’t expect from a beginners car: adjustable camber and toe-in links, extra long upper links with new multiple mounting positions, adjustable Ackerman settings, adjustable droop, different caster and toe in blocks included in the kit… to name but a few. There are no CS kits made for this chassis. There have been a number of people that have accomplished CS modifications on Sprint 2. You could check out RC Drift Revolution or other forums with more knowledge on the subject.
