Street Jam recently released a new batch of high-end OTA chassis, namely the OTA-R3R and OTA-Zeon series of chassis. The product alert regards the new OTA-R3R that was shipped out in December of 2011. Street Jam has discovered some quality control problems after several orders may have been shipped out. Contact your Street Jam retailer if you have encountered this problem.
Street Jam has discovered that the OTA-R3R kits have been contaminated with parts that exceed the allowable failure rate. The new solid axle cups is the component targeted, it has been found that the bearings do not fit into the axle cup. Street Jam has taken additional steps to ensure that anything going forward will be inspected and error corrected. There may be several kits that were shipped out with this bearing problem so please contact your Street Jam representative if that is the case. Street jam apologizes for any inconvenience and will strive to prevent such problems in the future; improvements to quality control will be implemented for the future.

doesnt have this problem~streetjam still the best~
only effects a small number of kits that did not get checked prior to shipping
My kid is now drifting on R3R that was bought sometime in Oct-Nov 2011. We’re living in Jakarta, Indonesia so could you give us your best suggestion and recommendation on this issue? Would you please inform us on how to resolve it as my kid’s performance was dropped to the Big-Eight on the last race. FYI he drifted better when on Yokomo-DRB Chasis. For your kind support I thank you and your quick respond will be highly appreciated. Dwipoespito@technologist.com BB PIN 260C8778.
This specific problem is related to the rear Solid Axle drive cups, the kit was assembled with a larger size cup that will not fit the bearings intended for it. If your R3R chassis kit was assembled, then it should not have that problem. This product alert only effects a small number of kits, and only the ones released in the December production run of the Street Jam OTA-R3R. Street Jam promptly resolved that issue with the remainder of the R3R kits before they shipped out.
I expect your OTA-R3R kit has no problems and perhaps your kid’s performance is due to the change in chassis from the DRB. The weight distribution and balance of the OTA-R3R and the Yokomo DRB differ significantly.
